6 Easy Skin Care Products You Can Make for Valentine’s Day

Easy DIY Valentine’s Day Ideas to Show your Love

1. Homemade Valentine Massage Oil: You can find some of the best massage oils at your nearest health food store. Even my local grocery store now carries carrier oils and essential oils. To a 4 ounce bottle of carrier oil (grapeseed, jojoba, almond or apricot kernel… even olive oil), add 4 drops each of any two aphrodisiac essential oils (ylang ylang is my favorite, sandalwood (he might prefer), jasmine, patchouli or other) with a kick (4 drops) of one warming oil (black pepper, ginger, or cardamom). Shake and apply.
2. Pink Heart Shaped Himalayan Salt Bath Bombs: The ingredient list is short and do-able, a ratio of 2:1:1 for baking soda, salt and citric acid. Heart molds are perfect for this, and the pink from the Himalayan salt is perfect-o. Make sure to read through the instructions to have first-time success. Instructions here…
3. White Chocolate Lotion Bars: For some reason, calling it “white chocolate” just sounds better, doesn’t it? Equal amounts of beeswax, cocoa butter and coconut oil melted in a double boiler, stirred, and then poured into your favorite heart mold until it sets. For easy pop out, freeze for 30 minutes after they’ve sat at room temperature.
4. Personalized Lip Balms: Take the recipe in #3, drop into lip balm tubes (buy them here) using a medicine dropper, and have fun with the labels. Some ideas: “Stick with me!”… “You’re the bee’s knees”… “Bee Mine” … click here for more ideas. Perfect for your child’s classroom.
5. Homemade Muscle Rub: Take the recipe in #3, add 1 tsp menthol crystals to each ounce of melted lotion mixture. This may be best poured into something you can rub onto the skin without using your fingers (glue stick size container or deodorant tube, for example)
